My Experience and My Progress in Writing Essay

“There is no result without process and there is no progress without some efforts”. This statement already works for me and I believe all of people agree with it. I have experience that proves this statement. It happened when I took writing 2 in this short semester.

At the first time when my friend told that Miss Lina will teach in writing 2 in this short semester, I felt like back to the past. It was about 3 years ago when my friend and I took writing 1 in the second semester (2011). At that time Miss Lina gave me and all of my friend of NK2 so many exercise about writing. I should write essays with different types. After wrote, I should ask friends to check what essay that wrote by me. For final examination my friend and I must collect the entire essays that we wrote in that semester and save it in one file. I still remember how difficult I and my friend run to the copy center to print out my essay and then must run back to the campus for collecting the essay in one file. Now, when I took writing 2, I felt like people on fire because I know in this short semester will be so many exercises that I should wrote but I believe I can handle it.

Now in writing 2 it is not different method with writing 1 activity. In this short semester I have so many exercises that must I write every day. Each day I have the other exercise and sometimes I should check and check my essays again before going to other essays to make sure they are better than before, and to make a few of error. Until now I have had wrote 3 essays, there are general essay, discussion essay, and narrative essay. For general essay as the first essay that my lecturer gave, told about weakness and strengthens in writing and told about the strategies that should I do to achieve score A in writing 2.  For discussion essay, I can choose title that will I write by myself and I write about minor children phenomena. The last one is about narrative. It is consist of two parts; the first is about narrative text about fiction story of “Rp.3000 change people perception”, then about narrative essay with title of Listen to your parents. In this essay I wrote about my experience and process during write all of the essays that given by my lecturer.

The first essay that I wrote is about my weakness and straightens in writing. The processes that I follow is making brainstorming, it needed to help me to easy explain the point of my idea that will I write. After I brainstormed I tried for making outline of my essay. It consisted of introduction, body paragraphs and conclusion. In outline I wrote in general view that will check before continue to draft 1. For checking my outline, I copied it and asked friends to help for reviewing and correcting the essays. It is finish? Not yet because after my essays was checked by my friend and myself too, I must write the new one with few of error. During this processes, I felt enjoy because this essays tell about my own experience and my own weakness that really I know. Easily, I can give more imagination and explanation to this general essay and after wrote this essay I understand what were my weakness and strengthens, what were the strategies that can I did in while I am writing. So that I know what should I do and what process that must be followed if I want to be a good writer and achieve A in this short semester especially in writing 2.

For the next essay I tried to make a good one with a good process. It is about discussion text that purpose to give information which consists of responses, view, or argument in responding to social phenomena or social issue. And I told about minor children phenomena of working. I choose this title and this idea because nowadays I see there are children who must earn money in minor age. It is so controversy phenomena while it has advantages, in contrast gives disadvantages to children. During I wrote this essay, I got some problem to collect the data and sometime when I found the data, I forget to put it on my essay. In writing about discussion essay, I started feel bored of all of this process because day by days the exercises that should I did more than before and also must continue my first essay about weaknesses and straightens that was revised by my friend.

Even though I want to have free time to enjoy this fasting day and sometime I should go home late to finish and collect this essay, I never stop to write an essay without care about my health. I force my body to finish the entire task on time; it forces me to sleep late at night and must wake up early to sahur. It was so tired day in process of writing and it made me got flue and fever because of this busy activity.

It was not the end. I don’t want to lose my time to complete my writing because I got flue. I decided must handle the problem that I got in processes of writing; I tried to make a schedule of my activity. I set the specific time for study, work, and have fun with friend, and its work. So I can write a good essay and have more time to enjoy the day.

In conclusion, eventhough writing 2 is so busy and boring activity with so many processes and exercises that should I write everyday, the activity that make my time became shorter to enjoy the day and have fun with friend. It was hard semester I though because I had lost my time for having fun with friend but “there is no result without process” On the other hand writing 2 is the activity that makes me able to produce a work that can be enjoyed by many people and I should understand that “work hard for good results”. I realized that in writing 2, I learn how to be a discipline people, how to handle the time and how to write an essay. However, I realized this problem occur cause I cannot manage the time and all of this process need to the future. So if I focus in this process I will get a good result for the next, I hope I can get A.

Listen to The Parents

Have you ever got an accident that changes your life? Well, I had an experience about accident, and this accident make me learn about the important of parent’s advice. It happened 5 years ago, when I was in senior high school.

It was lebaran day; or most of muslim call it by Idul Fitri. It is the biggest festival in Islamic rituals. Lebaran Day is a wrap-up of Ramadhan, the fasting month that comes as the finished of Ramadhan. After praying, as usual my families will gather to visit the other family. We gathered to enjoy delicious cake and also a glass of orange flavored syrup. Laughing together and telling about everything that made us happy. At that time, my uncle came to my house and invited me for a trip to grandma's house. In That moment my uncle challenges me to ride motorcycle by myself, because several days before I practiced to ride motorcycle every day. For the first, I was hesitant but I decided to invite my sister to go with me.

Several hours later, I prepared and told my parents about my uncle’s challenge. When I asked permission to my parents, they initially barred. They said that I was beginner and my grandmother’s house is too far but I still insisted and decided to go because my uncle called and said that he was waiting at grandma's house. In short, in the afternoon I immediately went eventhough I am not too familiar about the signs and I was not sure where the road to Grandma's house but at that moment I was really brave to go as a beginner rider.

While on the trip, I ride fast because I felt likes a good rider than my sister who cannot ride a motorcycle. I will show my skill on ride a motorcycle, without caring that I was a just beginner to ride a motorcycle. Suddenly, I got a wrong road and would turn toward the right direction. Unfortunately, when I would to turn around there was a speeding motorcycle that bumped me and my sister. First, I did not understand what happened, but after that accident occurred, I realized the crash, I sit on the floor, and it far from my motorcycle. Luckily, at the time there are people who help us, because the perpetrators was fled and left us in the bad condition.

After that some people help, and check my sister and I condition after a bad accident. I tried to not back at home. Finally I went to my grandmother’s house carefully with different speed. I like a beginner who just tries to practice, because it was slower than before. An when my sister and I arrived, my aunt asked “what happen with you?” why you look so scare and pale?” in trembling voice I told what happen with us. I beg to my aunt to did not tell with my father, but My father suddenly call to my grandmother’s house, he asked about my sister and I, he asked my aunt “did my child arrived there? She was beginner rider and I worry she got a bad thing in the way”. My aunt said yes, they arrived several minutes ago.

At the end, when I would go home, my uncle followed me at the back. He wanted to make sure his niece to be safe. At home I told that accident to my parents and they worried and advice to more focuses and do not forget to pray before going somewhere. After that until now I am afraid to go to a place without asking permission to my parents. Because I do not know what will happen if I go without tell and consult with my parents.

Is It Okay for Children to Earn Money?

Every people need to interact and communicate with other by using language to continue their life, and also people who will get good life need money to buy all of the thing that became priorities, such us for buying daily food, clothes, book, and home. Money that people need must be get from several ways. as children, they only ask their parent that will give some money for them, as adult we should earn money by finding a job and work, but nowadays we can see that child must do the same work as adults while they should study at school. Is it okay for children work to earn money? Some people said that it is should not happen, but there are some people argue and intentionally force their children to earn money.

The first reason why parent agree their child to work and earn money is because of economic crisis. Children can help their parent to complete the thing that needed to their family. Also children can pay school tuition without ask and make their parent difficult and confuse to pay.

The next reason is to teach the child with perception about money is an important aspect but difficult to get if we do not working hard.  When the child understands about this situation, in the next activity they will think twice to spend their money. They will choose to buy book than buy a toy. And they will save their money to survive their life to the future.

On the other hand, as explain by Convention on the International Labor Organization (ILO) ; range for working is 18 years and over, people who under 18 years may work but should not harmful, and If there are people who force children to work, they will be punished Because it is a kind of exploitation of children and criminal. From that statement we can understand that ask and force child to work is a kind of crime. It will give the bad effect for child development. They will easy to get sick because must work hard. Support with provisions are enforced by a complaint to the Equal Rights Division within 2 years of the alleged violation that child under 16 may be work only during certain hours of the day and of the week. People who ask the child to work  is  responsible for making sure that minors work only can do a work that will not give the bad effect child study, and also they do not do any difficult work.

Beside, child will less their time to study at school and would stay away from their friend. It happens because they should work every day and focus to handle family finance. This effect also grow the child to be unmanageable because they think can help family to additional income, so why they should follow their parent instruction.

Whatever money is an important in life, children should concentrate with their lesson and they also can work to earn money and help their parent finance, but the work must be different with adult work. So they do not pass their time study and have free time to play with their friend in their childhood.

Some Efforts That Should We Do To Achieve Score A In Writing

“There is a will, there is a way” this proverb I read in every book of motivation. People can change the world whenever they want”, all of this statement supported us to have strategies to handle and solve our writing weakness. The first strategy that must we do is focus. Whatever people influence and disturb us to write, do not care you should keep writing and keep explain more idea in each paragraph. After we already focus, the next strategy is study hard and practices a lot. It is important to make a good essay and make us rich of vocabulary. When you finish write, ask your friend to check and correction your essay, then we can start to write a new one with the good one.

Besides, we need to control and manage our time. We must know the time for writing, playing a game, and time for hanging out with friend. For the solution we can make daily schedule of life. In this schedule we can separated and make sure we have the right time to do all of our task. Addition we must consistent with schedule that we make. The other solution that can we do is to ask family or friend to remind us to study and follow the schedule, so we can be relax and enjoy to write an essay.

The other thing that should we do to get score A in writing is avoid plagiarism and make sure to write your own essay without copy the other people’s essay. You able to used people argument and idea but you must improve and tell it by using your own word with your writing style that absolutely different with your friend.

In conclusion, we know, writing became one of the important aspects in our life, but not all of people will be success to be a good writer. Each of us has different problem and weakness in writing. To handle the weakness we must have strategy, such us more focus on writing, study hard, practice a lot, discussion with friend and control and manage our time. So that, not only can write a good essay, but we can earn money from writing, like novelist that write a story and publish it.

My Writing Weakness and Strengths

Do you like writing? Well, writing is an activity that can help us to improve our imagination and creativity and it is the mental work of inventing ideas, thinking about how to express them, and organizing them into statements and paragraphs that will be clear to a reader. Writing is an important aspect of our life that I learn since 20 years ago.  When I was a child, the lesson that I study after listening and speaking is writing. At the first time I used to write on wall of my house, and almost all of my wall full of my writing. Now, writing is needed to help me in process of graduation. In fact, success in writing does not get with an easy way. I must have strategies and make my weaknesses became straightness on writing.

Have you ever lost your idea when write something? This problem is lack of idea, and it is one of my weaknesses of writing. For instance, when I was in senior high school I followed the examination. At that time I should write an essay on three paragraphs. I wrote and wrote sentence by sentence carefully but suddenly my friend calls me to borrow something. Sadly, when I will continue my writing, I lost my idea; I forget all off the thing that want I wrote before. In short, I wrote the same idea in the next paragraph, because of that I got a low mark.

The next problem that I have in writing activity related with my personal habit.  When I am lack of idea to write something and there is people who disturb me while I am writing, I will be lazy to continue it. It will hard to call back the idea that ever I had. In this situation I prefer to sleep and play a game than focus to continue and write my essay. Sometime I told to myself “tomorrow I will write” but in fact I am lazy to do it. This problem makes my writing bad and I am late to finish it.

My other problem is having less vocabulary. I usually tell and explain the idea in my paragraph with the same vocabulary. It occurs because I just remember and know a few of word. When I write with standard and maybe a bad one, I will not confident to publish it. Sometimes I put my writing essay under my friend’s essay when my lecturer asked to collect it. In fact I know my lecturer will read all of her student tasks, including mine but I put it at the back or last position.

On the other hand, I also have strengths in writing. Each of people has their own strengths and it is dissimilar with other, my strengths will be different with my friend’s writing and it is depend on our personality and our knowledge. For me, love writes something and always writes my activity in diary is one of my strengths in writing. This habit makes me easier to explain and distribute ideas in each paragraph. So I only have to keep practice and keep write because I have experience in it.

Addition, because of my habit in writing I was trained to play the imagination in every situation including in writing activity. The imagination is something that I need to improve the idea. So I believe I will be a good writer if I can control and manage the strengths that I have.

In conclusion, all of us have weakness and strengthens in writing activity. So each of us should do a strategy to change and handle the weakness that may disturb us for writing. For me lazy, lack of idea and cannot focus on writing become my weakness but I believe I can write a good essay with my strengths on writing.
